پروتئین ۴ ریختزایی استخوان
پروتئین شمارهٔ ۴ ریختزایی استخوان (انگلیسی: Bone morphogenetic protein 4) پروتئینی است که در انسان توسط ژن «BMP4» کُد میشود.[۴][۵] این ژن بر روی بازوی بلند کروموزوم ۱۴ واقع است.
این مولکول حیاتی در مراحل اولیه رشد و تکامل جنینی در ناحیه چشمها، قلب و کیسهٔ شنوایی وجود دارد.[۶]
این پروتئین با بروز برخی از بیماریهای استخوانی از جمله «فیبرودیسپلازی استخوانیشونده پیشرونده» در ارتباط است[۷] و احتمالاً در بروز لبشکری هم نقش دارد.[۸]
از دیگر نقشهای مهم این پروتئین میتوان به رشد و تکامل چشمها و همچنین ریزش مو و کچلی اشاره کرد.
